How Does the Admissions Process Work?
All referrals are sent to the Center's Consumer Services Coordinator. The OVR Counselor provides the McDowell Center with current information that will help the McDowell Center understand the needs of the person referred. The Admissions Committee reviews the information provided by the Counselor and makes a decision as to whether the consumer will benefit from services.
If the individual has received services from the McDowell Center in the past, that person may reapply. The admissions process for persons reapplying is the same as that for new consumers.
The McDowell Center admits new consumers every Monday unless other arrangements are made based on individual needs. The Consumer Services Coordinator will contact persons scheduled for services via phone as well as send more detailed information in the mail.
There are typically waiting lists for program enrollment. Persons on waiting lists will be scheduled for enrollment according to the class availability.
