In a step toward establishing a prevailing wage for tobacco farmworkers, the Kentucky Labor Cabinet has launched an online survey to gather information about how much employers paid them in the 2020 crop year.
With sufficient participation by tobacco growers, the survey will determine the prevailing wage in the Commonwealth for piece (or per unit) rates offered by employers who employ H-2A visa workers for cutting tobacco and other tobacco-related tasks.
The survey is voluntary, takes only a moment to complete, and will be available until April 6, 2021.

Agriculture Workers
Job seekers can benefit from the services offered at our local Kentucky Career Center offices. Our agriculture employment consultants help place farmworkers in jobs and ensure that migrant and seasonal farmworkers have access to the same services as the general public.
