Admission Qualifications

Understanding, learning and applying various techniques of cosmetology, a creative flair for adapting styles to suit individual customers, the ability to serve ​people at all levels, the ability to perceive differences in color and form, eye hand coordination, finger dexterity, and the physical stamina to be capable of standing for long periods of time are required.
 
As of July 1, 2012, a Cosmetology license, including an apprentice license, requires a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) diploma, or the results from the Test for Adult Basic Education indicating a score equivalent to the twelfth grade of high school.

Length of Course

2 years-1800 hours (S.O.C.39-5012.00)

Employment Options

Salon operator/owner/manager, make-up artist, beauty school owner, teacher, supervisor, manufacturer's representative, member of research groups to test new products, platform artist, and technical writer. 

Nail Technician

This program provides the student with the theory and practical application in the areas of manicures, pedicures and application of artificial nails.  As of July 1, 2012, a Nail Technology license  requires a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED) diploma, or the results from the Test for Adult Basic Education indicating a score equivalent to the twelfth grade of high school.
