Program Goal

Students will acquire skills and knowledge necessary for employment in the area of horticulture. Students are trained for job opportunities in a variety of settings ​that require knowledge and skills to maintain lawns and grounds such as parks, schools, and businesses.

Admission Qualifications

Dexterity of the arms and hands, as well as, walking, standing, stooping, bending, and lifting (25-50 lbs. frequently to 50 to 100 lbs. occasionally) are required.

Length of Course

The expected length of this training is 300 hours (O*NET 37-3011.00 Landscaping and Groundskeeping Worker and O*NET 45-2092.01 Nursery Worker).

Employment Options

Greenhouses and nursery operations, lawn care, golf courses, public parks, private landscape contractors, and private groundskeeping contractors.
